Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Abhaeri – Jaipur

After a morning wellness activity and breakfast, we will transfer to Jaipur. On our way to Jaipur, stop at the unique deserted Mughal City of Fatehpur Sikri, which is still in an excellent state of preservation. We continue our drive to Abhaneri, famous for Chand Baori step well which was created for rainwater harvesting. This colossal step well has a depth of 20 meters, with 13 levels. It is regarded as one of deepest and largest step wells in India. Despite being so large, the well still has delicate and intricate carvings which are a visual treat.Upon arrival in Jaipur, check in at your hotel for a 3 nights stay. The old walled section of the city is known as the Pink City; it was painted red (a lucky color in Hindu culture) to welcome England’s Prince Alfred in 1853, and the fading old buildings retain their hue. Jaipur is one of India’s newer cities, founded in 1727, and was the creation of Jai Singh II, the Maharaja of the Kuchwaha Rajputs, who decided when Mogul power was on the decline to move from his outmoded hillside fortress at Amber to establish a new capital on the plains further south.

  • Hawa Mahal “Palace of Wind”—Drive past this landmark of Jaipur built of pink sandstone with a delicate honeycomb design.
  • Amer Fort—The capital for six centuries before Jaipur was built. This 11th century fort and palace complex is a blend of Hindu and Muslim styles.

  • City Palace—Located in the center of the city, it is partly open to the public, while the rest remains Maharaja’s residence. Most of the complex has been developed into a museum containing rare manuscripts, fine specimens of Rajput and Mughal paintings, royal apparel, and an armory.
  • Bapu Market—This market is located within the old city area between the Sanganeri Gate and New Gate and is Jaipur’s ever busy bustling shopping market. There is no vehicular traffic on this road. You can buy all things quintessentially Rajasthani here—salwar kameez sets, bedspreads, cushion covers, and fabric.
